A Ravenna man on a bicycle was struck but not injured Monday night by a van driven by another Ravenna man, at the intersection of West Main and Grant street.
According to a Ravenna Police Department crash report, the incident happened at approximately 8:52 p.m. as the 18-year-old Murray Avenue resident was riding westbound on the sidewalk along West Main Street.
A 1999 Chevrolet van, driven by a 63-year-old Longfield Road man with a 22-year-old Mogadore woman in the passenger seat, was turning left from West Main Street to head south on Grant Street at the same time, police said.
The cyclist "rode straight though the crosswalk without stopping or looking," while the van driver "entered the crosswalk without yielding" to the cyclist, the report states.
The cyclist struck the van's front left side and was thrown from his bicycle, but not injured, police said. An officer blamed his actions on "improper crossing" and inattention, with alcohol use also suspected, according to the report.
Neither was cited for their actions, according to Ravenna police.
