Christopher J. Worthington, 50, homeless, was arrested Sept. 25 in the 1400 block of East Main Street and charged with receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. Worthington allegedly possessed a stolen 2014 American Landmaster Trail Wagon TW400 Utility Vehicle, according to Kent police.


A 29-year-old Ravenna man was arrested Sept. 25 in the area of Ash and Hill streets and charged with one count each of falsification and carrying a concealed weapon, both first-degree misdemeanors, and possession of marijuana, a minor misdemeanor, after allegedly providing a false name to a deputy in an attempt to avoid identification. A search of the man turned up a pair of concealed brass knuckles and less than 100 grams of marijuana, according to the Portage County Sheriff's Office.

A 49-year-old Franklin Township man was issued a summons to appear Oct. 4 in Portage County Municipal Court to answer a charge of theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, after allegedly stealing $122 worth of merchandise from the Walmart store at 905 Singletary Drive on Sept. 8, according to Streetsboro police.


Daniel J. Shaffer, 38, of 284 Pheasant Drive, was arrested Sept. 25 and charged with domestic violence, a fifth-degree felony. Shaffer allegedly threw a female family member to the floor and stepped on her toes. The charge is a felony because he was convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence in 2015, according to the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
